FIRST DAY – Arrival in Langhirano and visit to the Parma Ham Museum (Museo del
Prosciutto di Parma). Visit to a plant for the production of Parma ham – Prosciutto
di Parma to see and learn about preparation and ageing phases. Visit to the seasoning
cellars. Tasting lunch with tyical products in a farm. Afternoon dedicated to
one of the many possible activities at a teaching farm. Dinner and overnight stay
at the hotel.
SECOND DAY – Breakfast. Tour of Parma. The old city center offers many chances
for the students: the Ducal Garden and the Giordano Ferrari Museum or puppet castle
the most important collection in Italy dedicated to the animation theatre; the
Antelami Months statues inside the beautiful Baptistery and the Cathedral with
the magnificent dome and the imposing lions of the façade; the music capital with
the House of Music, the House of Sound, the Toscanini Birth House, the monument
to Verdi, the Farnese Theatre and the Regio Theatre. Lunch in pizzeria. Visit
to the splendid Torrechiara Castle, place for stories of men, loves and battles.
From its hill, it dominates the production area of Parma Ham and “Vini dei Colli
di Parma” wines. Transfer and visit to the Felino Castle and to the Felino Salami
Museum with tasting. Departure.

To enrich your programme
Visit the fortress of Sala Baganza with hands on teaching experiences on the
themes of art and history. Birdwatching walk in the Regional Fluvial Park of
the Taro river and the regional Park of the Carrega woods where you can choose
between the various possible routes taking in the historical residence of Maria
Luigia, the small Casinetto and the monumental garden.
